ANGAN (ANHIMA Nereida gender and antiquity network)

The Project ANGAN aims to support a French-Brazilian partnership for the research initiative Eurykleia, an online database of named women in antiquity. The purpose is to integrate the work of Brazilian colleagues in data collection and interpretation from a gender-based perspective in order to ensure a consistent methodology for the different countries involved. The partnership involves senior researchers and further enables young researchers (doctoral and post-doctoral students) to complete their training through an international research project based on new technologies and new approaches to Antiquity. The project ANGAN involves extensive collaboration with the Department of Digital Studies at the University of Leipzig and the LGPN Project of the British Academy, and it will create new possibilities for the diffusion of research for scholars involved in the French-Latin American partnership, who would otherwise be excluded from large international projects.
